If you’re a programmer, software developer, or software engineer, getting your employer to host or sponsor a hackathon is a good way to get a foot in the door for future FOSS adoption. Hackathons are great because some prototypes will emerge that can be built into products or inspire some changes in how things are done. It’s also a nice way to collaborate and converse with others in the industry and learn new things.
Ever felt like you had a really good idea for an app that could change people’s lives and make the world a better place? Perhaps the only thing stopping you from taking action was you didn’t know where to start, or thought no one else would be interested? Well, hear that sound? That is opportunity knocking on your door.
We are asking people to design, implement and showcase new ideas for a mobile application that could benefit society and help to build a brighter future. After the registration closes there will be a pre-selection amongst the candidate teams.
Best apps will be rewarded with great prizes. The overall winning app of the hackathon will be enrolled into the Aalto App Campus Program.
